Nagoya Kanko is a lovely old hotel exuding old world charm. The room was nice and big, and well-appointed, with friendly staff. From the airport you will be taking the Mitetsu line to reach Nagoya station. Come out to Mitetsu exit, walk right till you are at Mitetsu building, with your back to the building, cross the road, you will see the spiral building in front. Walk along that road with the spiral building on your right. A straight walk for about 15 minutes will bring you to the Kanko hotel. Or take the subway to Fushimi station, and walk to the hotel in under 3 minutes. Staff are friendly, the hotel has some nice restaurants too. It’s close to some of the local attractions like science museum. There’s a local cafe that gives free breakfast when you order coffee, do note there will a queue.

The staff were quite helpful and I was quite amazed at their service. We registered early and left for Legoland. When we returned at night to check in, they know who I was even though I haven't given my name. The staff showed me my booking, I said yes, then they gave us our key. I felt so relaxed in the room. The view of the park was nice as well. When we checked out the following day, they helped and guided us for the airport limousine bus. I loved the location too! It was right in front of the bus station for the airport limousine bus. The hotel was also near a train station. It was also near the Nagoya City Science Museum, Art Museum and Electricity Museum. We hope to return next year and stay here again.

Great location with lots of great restaurants, shops and steps from Fushimi station. Staff from doormen to receptionist to household staff were all excellent. Receptionist helped us with couriering our heavy luggage pieces to our next hotel in Tokyo. We stayed in many hotels during our 11 day stay in Tokyo. This is also probably our 20th trip to Japan. Nagoya Kanko’s service was on par with or better than hotels charging a lot more like Conrad or Imperial in Tokyo. Furnishings, bedding and even the complimentary pyjamas were all very high quality. This hotel feels old money, provides old world service standards without the sky high prices. Excellent value.

The room was a good size. I was travelling lightly as I was only at the hotel for a short stay but the room was easily large enough to accommodate travellers who may be bringing more baggage with them for a longer stay. The hotel is in a convenient location, being quite close to a station on a subway line that can be used to quickly reach Nagoya station. The distance from the hotel to Nagoya castle or Nagoya station is also walkable in a reasonable amount of time. The room and the hotel more generally was clean and fairly well maintained and the staff were friendly.

A hotel that offers an opulent traditional hotel feel of a bygone era. It feels quite special. The entrance area is expansive and grand. The reception on level 6 is people at individual desks who deal with you one to one at their desk. The rooms are clean and traditionally finished with marble bathrooms and basic hotel room layout. From the outside this hotel looks very austere, but exceeded our expectations with its old school luxury vibe inside and value for money. Really close to Fushimi subway station which is one stop to the main Nagoya station.
